Eta Gamma chapter well represented at the Southeastern Keystone Regional Conference PDF Print E-mail

This past month the Eta Gamma chapter had a strong representation at theKeystone Regional conference in Jacksonville, FL 10 men from our chapter and 4 advisory board members went and received targeted officer training to help lead our chapter this next year. We were the largest delegation and received the outstanding member education award for our efforts with the Gabriel Shapanka Legacy of Leadership Academy. The weekend consisted of some intense training on best practices for chapter management and operations as well as a review of the strategic plan of the fraternity for the coming years.  Picture below is our Keystone delegation as well as our chapter president accepting the recognition for our member education program on behalf of the chapter.

Brothers and pledges came together this past saturday to support the Children Miracle's Network by dancing for 25 hours in the annual FIU Dance Marathon. Beta Theta Pi was a big sponsor of this years Dance Marathon and was the only fraternity featured on the dancer shirt - next to Phi Mu Fraternity, the only sorority to raise enough funds to be put on the dancer shirt. We all had a great time participating and look forward to continuing to support the Children's Miracle Network. For now, in the words of Morale Captain of Dance Marathon and Beta Brother Norwing Rivas "we'll sleep until tuesday" because our commitment to community is hardcore.

This past black Friday, we held the annual KAI Bowl a tradition that brings alumni brothers and undergraduates together for a friendly game of flag football at the fields in Tamiami Park outside of the University Park.

This year, we teamed up with Sigma Kappa Sorority and Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity to participate in FIUs annual Homecoming week celebrations. It was a great experience working with the ladies of Sigma Kappa and the men of Phi Sigma Kappa as we put together the Lypsync skit to the theme of LOST and “fist-pomped” an awesome float featuring an 8 feet volcano which won 2nd overall place.
